I just received a session from Alexis yesterday and while she was working on me, I started to think about all of the qualities and characteristics that make her a really good massage therapist. First off, she is a good listener and she is able to prioritize and customize each session to meet the needs and goals of that particular day. She consistently communicates and actually listens to the feedback provided, never forcing some personal agenda or direction. Alexis always approaches the body with respect and great sensitivity, never have I felt that she wasn’t fully present or distracted in any way shape or form, even during 2-hour long sessions.  Alexis has great quality of touch, palpation skills and sensitivity to the depth of pressure that she uses with her various techniques. As a bodyworker and instructor of bodywork, I can tell you that this is a skill that is really hard to teach and I would describe what she does as listening to the body through her hands. She always checks in regarding comfort and consistently shows genuine compassion and care for her clients.  She uses intuition as well as all as a sound understanding of human anatomy to guide her in finding areas of tension, fascial restriction and or loss of function. Her treatments are specific, thorough and I always feel better in some way or another after every session. I have been looking for a therapist like her for a long, long time and I can hardly believe that she is so new to this profession and yet so astute at the application of massage and bodywork. I can highly recommend Alexis and I always look forward to my sessions with her.
